Following the international success of the Yves Saint Laurent Beauty Station in Palm Springs USA for Coachella, YSL Australia was seeking a flexible full brand experience by way of a YSL Beauty Station pop up. The design concept was based on a 1950s style petrol station, complete with petrol pump, retro inspired interior with diner, beauty market, Beautymatic vending machine and powder room. The Australian Beauty Station pop up was launched in September 2019 in Sydney’s iconic Queen Victoria Building. Infocus Design worked within the restrictions posed by an installation in a heritage listed building and complied with all venue regulations to deliver the largest pop up that the QVB has ever hosted. Infocus Design worked on the adaptation of the international design concept, designed and built custom joinery and furniture, and took care of all on-site requirements.
